How To Make Union Jack Foaming Bath Bombs
Our Union Jack Foaming Bath Bombs are the epitome of British tea parties! With our delightfully sweet strawberries and cream aroma, our funky Union Jack Flag design combined with the fun and fizz of a bath bomb what more could you want during a very British bath time...
About Our Bath Bomb Ingredients...
SLSA Powder, also known as Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate, is a mild and safe cleanser known for it's fantastic foaming qualities and often used as a foaming agent in bath bomb recipes.
Strawberries & Cream Fragrance is the perfect scent for creating luxurious and indulgent bath bombs. For those who are sweet-toothed and could eat strawberries for days, this pick-me up fragrance oil is bursting with a delightfully ripe strawberry aroma, lightly sprinkled with caster sugar and dosed in cream.
Cocamidopropyl Betaine is a unique and interesting ingredient, used in a lot of cosmetic and toiletry formulation as a surfactant and to increase the foaming capabilities of your recipe. Making it a perfect addition for our bath bombs!
Combined with our two core bath bomb making ingredients, citric and bicarb, as well as our two main colours to create our very British, sweetly smelling Union Jack Bath Bombs.

How To Make Your Own Bath Bombs...
- Firstly, prepare your area by gathering all the necessary equipment needed.
- Wearing gloves, start by carefully adding your bicarb, citric and SLSA powder to a mixing bowl. Then slowly, mix these ingredients with your hands, breaking apart any lumps.
- Next, pour in your fragrance and mix well. The consistency of your mix will become fluffy and should be the same throughout.
- Then, add in your coca betaine and mix again until combined.
- Once you are happy, grab two mixing bowls and add a handful of your mix to each bowl. Then place your larger bowl with the remaining mix to one side.
- Next, in one of your smaller bowls add a few drops of your red dye and use your hands to combine the colour. Once evenly distributed, add your blue dye to your other bowl and mix well.
- When you have your two colours ready, from a distance spritz all three bowls with water and mix thoroughly to dampen to mixture. Squeeze your bath bomb mix in your hand and if it hold together like a snowball it is ready.
- Then, you can build your bath bombs. As we were aiming for a Union Jack pattern, we used small amounts of colours, as well as spatula to create the lines and sections of the flag. We were aiming for a rustic style finish. We then filled and compact each bath bomb with the remaining mixture, scraped away the excess and left them to solidify (preferably overnight).
- Once fully solid, carefully remove from your mould and you can enjoy your Union Jack Foaming Bath Bombs!
Top Tip: For a better effect, hold your bath bomb so that the bottom half sits in the water but the flag is above, then watch as the colour releases and your bath bomb fizzes in your hand.
