How To Make Your Own St Patrick's Day Soaps...
- Firstly, prepare your area by gathering all the necessary equipment and ingredients needed.
- Chop 4 ounces of Clear Melt and Pour Soap Base into small, uniform cubes. Place them in a heat-safe container and melt in the microwave using 10-15 second bursts.
- Once melted, stir in green dye drops (amount will vary depending on how dark you want the colour intensity to be)
- Add approx. 1/3 of the Creamy Fragrance oil & stir thoroughly.
- Pour into the Mini Heart Silicone Column Mould. Set the mould aside and allow the soap to cool and harden.
- Chop 16 ounces of White Melt and Pour Soap into small uniform pieces. Place in a heat-safe container and melt using 20-30 second bursts.
- Once melted, add the remaining Creamy Fragrance Oil and stir in thoroughly.
- Pour the soap into each cavity about 3/4 of the way full. After each pour, spritz with 99% isopropyl alcohol to get rid of bubbles. Fill all six cavities and allow the soap to cool and harden for about 20 minutes.
- Once the white soap & pour has cooled slightly and has formed a thick enough layer to support the embeds, gently place the heart embeds on top, with the heart corners meeting in the middle. Tip – use a heat gun to warm if the white base has set a little too much.
Leave to set – and de-mould your St Patrick’s Day inspired soaps.
Creating Shamrock Soaps isn't just about crafting a product—it's about exploring your creativity. Experiment with layering different soaps and colors to add depth and visual appeal to your creations. This process is perfect for beginners looking to elevate their soap-making skills from simple single-block coloured soaps to more intricate designs.
Can I use a different type of soap base for this project? While White melt-and-pour soap base is recommended for its ease of use and ability to hold embeds well, you can certainly experiment with other types of soap bases. Just ensure that the base you choose is compatible with embeds and fragrances.
How long does it take for the soap to set? The setting time for your Shamrock Soaps will vary depending on factors such as room temperature and humidity. Generally, you can expect the soap to set within a few hours. For best results, allow your soap to fully harden before de-moulding and using.
Can I customise the fragrance of my Shamrock Soaps? Absolutely! While the Creamy Fragrance oil adds a delightful scent to your soaps, feel free to experiment with different fragrances to suit your preferences. Just ensure that the fragrance oil you choose is safe for use in soap-making.
