Top Tips For Wax Melt Making

• Flat & Protected - Before pouring, always check to make sure your containers are on a level, flat surface. If possible, keep them away from open windows so that no uninvited guests end up swimming in your exquisitely perfumed wax.
• Burner Space - Make sure you wax burner has a 10cm gap between the base of the melt pool and the tealight. This means a steady and safe burn, without too much heat in a short space of time.

FAQs For Making Wax Melts

Do wax melts have a shelf life?

Similar to candles, wax melts have varying expiration dates; those created with synthetic wax will last for years, but those made with natural vegetable wax work best when used within a few months. When a wax melt is melting, you can tell if it's gone bad because the aroma has evaporated and the consistency of the melt has altered. We advise using a wax melt within a year of purchasing it.

Can you re-melt your wax melts?

Wax melts can be used over and over, releasing fragrance into your home for hours. However, the more the fragrance evaporates the weaker the scent, it will gradually fade and no scent will be released. Simply, melt for 30 seconds, then pop out the melt and replace with a brand new one.

What is the ideal setting for creating wax melts?

Making wax melts requires a room temperature of 20 to 25 C, which is warm enough for the wax to set, but not so warm that it remains molten. While working with fragrance or essential oils, we also advise keeping a window open or a fan running to keep the air circulating. Just be careful not to pour your wax melts too close to a window or a fan.
