Equipment
• 2x Mixing Jugs
• Gloves
• Spatula
• Soap Cutter
• Leaf Mould, Silicone, Set of 6
Ingredients
• 650g Hemp Soap Base, Stephenson
• 20g Litsea Cubeba Essential Oil, May Chang
• Green Zenicolor (Zenicolor 5)
Step 1
Firstly, prepare and clean your working area. Including sourcing all equipment needed. For this recipe you will need two mixing bowls, a spatula and a soap cutter/knife.
Step 2
Next, wearing gloves carefully cut your soap base into cubes. This will help to speed up the melting process.
Step 3
Then place your cubes into a jug and melt in the microwave on a medium heat. Preferably in intervals to ensure you don't boil your soap. Initially melt for one minute then stir and put back in. Keep an eye on your soap as it can get hot very fast.
Step 4
Once your soap has melted completely, carefully add in your essential oil and stir well.
Step 5
Next, you can experiment with your colours. We poured half of our mix into another jug. In one jug we squeezed in some of our green Zenicolor and gave it a mix to ensure the colour dispersed evenly.
Step 6
We then carefully poured our soap into our mould. Layering the colours and adding more green to achieve a darker shade.
Step 7
Once you have used all of your soap mix, gently spray the tops of your soaps with IPA to remove any unwanted bubbles. Then leave your soaps for a few hours to set.
Step 8
When your soaps have set fully, remove then from their mould. Then you can enjoy your wonderful Hemp & Litsea Melt & Pour Soaps!
