How to make your Chamomile Blue Conditioner Bars
Step 1
Firstly, wearing gloves, accurately weigh out all of your ingredients.
Step 2
Next, carefully cut your conditioner base into small cubes. This will help speed up the melting process.
Step 3
Then place your cubes into your jug and melt in the microwave on a medium heat. Preferably in intervals to ensure you don’t boil your base. Initially melt for 1 minute then stir and put back in. Keep an eye on your conditioner as it can get hot very fast.
Step 4
Once your base has melted completely, carefully add in your essential oil and stir well. Ensure it has mixed throughout.
Next, add in a small amount of your indigo powder. This is down to preference, but only use a small amount as it is also used for a natural dye. We used a couple of tiny scoops and mixed the colour in with our spatula. If you find it is struggling to mix you can give it a few blasts with a hand blender to break away any lumps.
Step 5
As you can see the base is fairly transparent, however when it solidifies it turns more opaque and the colour changes. It is a bit of a guessing game to get your desired finish.
Step 6
When you think you have the correct colour, carefully pour your conditioner into your chosen moulds. Spritz the top with Isopropyl Alcohol to remove any unwanted bubbles, then leave to set.
Step 7
Once fully solidified, remove your bars from the mould. Then you can enjoy your wonderful Chamomile Blue Conditioner Bars!
