What are the benefits of aloe vera in soap?
Soaps infused with aloe vera have been used to promote health and well-being for thousands of years. Aloe vera is an incredibly versatile plant, containing more than 75 active compounds that are beneficial for health and beauty. It contains vitamins A, C, E and certain B vitamins; minerals such as calcium, copper, zinc and magnesium; antioxidants and amino acids which help reduce skin inflammation while nourishing the skin. Here are some of the amazing benefits of using soap infused with aloe vera:
1) Reduces Skin Inflammation: As mentioned earlier, aloe vera contains powerful antioxidants such as Vitamin C which can reduce inflammation in the skin. This helps to prevent redness or irritation caused by environmental factors like sun exposure or windburns. It also helps soothe existing inflammations like eczema or psoriasis.
2) Hydrates Dry Skin: Aloe vera helps keep your skin hydrated because it has a high water content (over 99%). When you use it in the form of soap it provides deep moisturizing action to fight dryness and maintain a healthy balance in your skin’s oil levels. This makes it especially beneficial for those with dry/sensitive skins who need extra hydration without irritating their delicate complexions.
3) Natural Cleanser: Not only does aloe provide ample moisture but its natural properties make it an effective cleanser too! Its cleansing capability comes from saponins - natural detergent molecules that break down oils on your body making them easier to be washed off when used as part of a cleansing routine. Plus unlike artificial surfactants found in most soaps which can strip away essential oils from your face leaving you feeling tight & dry - this isn’t an issue when using 100% organic aloe based products!
4) Anti Aging Benefits: In addition to providing intense moisture & gentle cleansing – using a product like soap infused with aloe may offer added anti-aging benefits too! The plant contain compounds known as polysaccharides which can sit on top of your dermal layer forming a protective barrier that keeps toxins out & moisture locked inside day & night – helping plump out wrinkles over time while keeping younger looking cells underneath intact!
At The Soap Kitchen, we supply Aloe Vera in a variety of forms, from a gel base to powder, liquid forms to soap bases. It is a must have ingredient in the soap and cosmetics industry.

How to make our Aloe & Peppermint Soaps
Step 1
Firstly, wearing gloves, accurately weigh out all of your ingredients.
Step 2
Next, carefully cut your soap base into small cubes. This will help speed up the melting process.
Step 3
Then place your cubes into your jug and melt in the microwave on medium heat. Preferably in intervals to ensure you don’t boil your soap. Initially melt for one minute then stir and put back in. Keep an eye on your soap as it can get hot very fast.
Step 4
Once your soap has melted completed, carefully add in your liquid colour. This can get messy so be careful when stirring to ensure it doesn’t splash.
Step 5
When your colour has completely dispersed add in your fragrance and stir well.
Step 6
Next, slowly pour your soap mix into your mould. Once you are happy with the level of your soap, gently spray with isopropyl alcohol to help remove any unwanted bubbles.
Step 7
Then leave your soaps to set. Preferably overnight, however a few hours is acceptable or when they have fully solidified.
Step 8
Finally remove your soaps from their mould and cut to your desired finished. We used a crinkle soap cutter for added detail and finished by tying with string and adding a delicate mint leaf. Then you can enjoy your Aloe & Peppermint Soaps.
How is best to store melt & pour soap?
Storing Melt and Pour Soap properly is essential for making sure your soap retains its original properties. To do this, store your soap bars in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Avoid letting the air get too humid, as it can cause discoloration of your soap bars.
When using the melt and pour method to make soaps, you should also consider ways to keep dust particles out of your mixture. To avoid contamination that may lead to spoilage or mildew growth, always use clean tools and equipment when handling the melted mix. Also use plastic wrap or sealable containers when storing any unused portion of this mixture before pouring into moulds.
You can then store these bars in whatever way works best for you; however, some possible solutions might include: wrapping individual bars tightly with wax paper then placing these wrapped pieces inside a tightly sealed container for maximum protection against environmental factors; shrink wrapping your soaps to reduce the risk of moisture build up and exposure; replacing existing seals instead of reusing previously opened ones etc... Finally if opting to display homemade soaps at events/ shows opt for covered trays that limit the amount of exposure they receive! Overall considering every aspect related towards successful storage processes helps preserve qualities we all love most about handmade artisans products!
Bubbles in melt and pour soap can be caused by a few different issues. The most common cause is air being mixed with the melted soap, which creates those little bubbles that don’t look so great. One way to prevent this from happening is to stir gently while melting the soap and avoid vigorous mixing because it can introduce air pockets into the mix.
How do you remove the bubbles in melt and pour soap?
If your melt and pour soap has already developed some bubbles there are three options to help remove them:
1) You may be able to remove them by popping each one individually with a sharp needle or toothpick. This should minimise the appearance of all the small holes left behind without disturbing any other areas of your project.
2) Once you have poured your melt and pour soap into its mould or container, spritz the top with isopropyl alcohol. The alcohol removes any unwanted bubbles without affecting the integrity of your soap base.
3) Another method for removing bubbles in melt and pour soaps is using heat as soon as possible after pouring your mixture into moulds or containers. Heat helps create a smooth top layer by causing any trapped air particles to rise up out of your melted soap mixture so they can burst at the surface instead of leaving behind small holes throughout your finished product. You can do this by placing moulds in an oven preheated for 5-10 minutes depending on how much you need it warmed up, then leaving until cool before unmoulding – just make sure not to overheat! Alternatively, you can also use a hair dryer or heat gun, set on a low heat setting to gently heat the mould - though keep in mind that direct heat may alter coloration if done improperly!
