Equipment
• Mixing Jug
• Microwave
• Weighing Scales
• Measuring Spoon
• Mixing Spoon/ Spatula
• Oval Soap Mould
• Soap Cutter
Materials
• 400g African Black Melt & Pour Base SOAP012
• 12g Coffee Fragrance FRAG0098
• 1-2tsp Coffee Hygeia BOT024 (depends on desired exfoliation)
• Oval Mould MOULD031
Step 1
Firstly, wearing gloves weigh out all of your ingredients.
Step 2
Next, carefully cut your soap base into small cubes, this helps speed up the melting process.
Step 3
Then place your cubes into your jug and melt in the microwave on medium heat in intervals to ensure you don’t boil your soap. Initially melt for 1 minute then stir and put back in. Keep an eye on your soap as it can get hot very fast.
Step 4
Once your soap has melted, give it a good stir before adding your Coffee Fragrance Oil.
Step 5
Next, add in all of your Coffee Hygeia and mix well, to ensure your ingredients are dispersed well throughout.
Step 6
With your mixture ready you can now pour it into your soap mould. Use your spatula to scrape out any excess mixture.
Step 7
Gently spray with isopropyl alcohol to help remove any unwanted bubbles, then leave your soap to set overnight.
Step 8
When your soaps have set fully, remove them from their moulds. Using your soap cutter, carefully cut a small slice out of the top of your bars to look like the middle line of a coffee bean. This adds the final coffee bean appearance. Then you can enjoy your African Black Soaps Infused with Coffee!
