Very decorative on soaps and in pot pourri.

Calluna vulgaris
Heather flowers are a traditional remedy in Swedish herbal medicine. Heathers are native to Ireland, Scotland, Scandinavia, Russia, and northern North America. Branches are used as broom straw, the leaves flavour beer and tea, the bark can be used for tanning, and the flowers yield nectar for honeybees. Heather contains many antimicrobial compounds and even honey made from heather flowers has been shown to have high antibacterial activity compared to many other types of honey. We like heather flowers for their colour, which is very decorative on hand made soaps and in pot pourri mixes.

Dried botanicals are natural products. The Soap Kitchen cannot guarantee that these Goods will not at a later date be subject to insect infestation, unless specifically treated. Even after treatments, treated goods can be subject to re-infestation if incorrectly stored. Untreated seeds, herbs, spices and flowers in any form, treated with approved chemical fumigants, are still susceptible to possible infestation as insect eggs are not destroyed by current chemical fumigants. Store in cool dry conditions, out of direct sunlight, and free from infestation and ingress of moisture.
