Liquid Crystal concentrate provides a simple way of producing a variety of Personal Care Cleansing Products of consistent quality. The use of one concentrate plus conditioning additive allows you to efficiently and cost effectively produce a range of cleansing products including Shower Gels, Shampoos and Foam Baths.

It is a careful blend of anionic and non-ionic surfactants with foam boosters and stabilisers, together with skin and hair conditioning agents that have a long history of use in Personal Care Cleansing Products. It is balanced to neutral pH and will produce copious amounts of dense, creamy lather that can be rinsed away easily and completely.

Simply thickens to desired consistency with the addition of common salt (suggest 25% common salt in water as thickening solution). Takes fragrance or essential oils at a suggested maximum of 1%. Takes liquid or water soluble colours (dyes) if desired.

Can be used as a shampoo base with the addition of suitable conditioning additive/s.
More Information
Extended InformationSimply dilute the Liquid Crystal Concentrate with water, add fragrance, colour and preservative of your choice and thicken your product by adding common salt. Liquid Crystal Concentrate is highly active with typical use levels of around 20 to 30%. It has good clarity and low colour. Although highly active, it has a low viscosity, making it readily pourable or pumpable.

Takes fragrance or essential oils at a suggested maximum of 1%. Takes liquid or water soluble colours (dyes) if desired.

Makes up to 4 times it's own weight (dilutes 3:1 with water). For foaming bath gels, makes double it's own weight (dilute 1:1 with water). Dilute 2:1 for 'luxury' foam bath/shower gel.

Weigh out the desired amount of concentrate into a suitable container or large bowl.

Add clean water (distilled/deionised or purified if preferred) at up to 3:1 dilution, stirring continuously but not too vigorously to avoid foaming.

Add a little salt solution (common table salt dissolved 25% in water) at a time, stirring continuously, until desired consistency is achieved.

Add fragrance or essential oil/s at maximum 1% and stir or gently whisk to fully incorporate

Finally add water soluble dye (in diluted form) as required. Leave to stand until clear and bubble-free.

Bottle as required.

Hints: Recommended dilution ratios for this product can vary to give 'economy' to 'luxury' variants. They are as follows... Luxury 2:1. Economy 4:1. Liquid Pearliser may be added, typically at 1-2% of final volume. Add before dilution for best results. If you add too much salt, this product may become cloudy. To rescue this, simply add more clean water until clear again, then add more base until dilution ratio is corrected and consistency is correct.
