Matricaria Recutica. Origin: Hungary
German chamomile, which is often referred to as blue chamomile or true chamomile, comes from the Compositae sunflower family. It is one of two chamomile species that can be used medicinally. The other one Roman Roman or English chamomile.

German chamomile essential oil is extracted from Matricaria chamomilla (M. recutica) of the same family and is also known by the names of blue chamomile, Hungarian chamomile and single chamomile. It has excellent calming properties, but Roman chamomile is more effective for irritation, impatience and feeling disagreeable, and has great value in treating PMS and other menstrual and menopausal problems, while German chamomile is superbly effective on the skin, not only to sooth and calm, but to heal and for tissue regeneration. German chamomile oil has a sweet, straw-like fragrance, is dark blue in colour and its viscosity is medium.

We supply essential oils as cosmetic ingredients and as such we are not obliged to label them with warnings about their topical or theraputic uses etc.. Should you be purchasing essential oils from us for any purpose other than as a cosmetic ingredient please refer to our Essential Oil Reference Guide for useful information. You may want to re-label your products according to the use they are to be put to. Read Our Essential Oil Reference Guide.
