SOAP
MAKING WORKSHOPS
We
hold regular Soap Making Workshops on our premises in Great
Torrington, Devon. These are generally on Saturday afternoons
and last approximately 4 hours. They are designed as a beginners
introduction, not a comprehensive course and do not attract
any formal or recognised qualification..
Anyone
wishing to learn the craft gets a chance to be taken through
the process step-by-step, making any one of a number of
our easier-to-make recipes. At the end you get to take home
the booklet and recipe sheet plus enough soap for at least
10 bars.
We
have a number of planned dates throughout 2008 and if we
have more demand than we can fit into these dates we will
publish extra dates as required.
The
cost of the soap-making workshop is £45.00 + VAT
per person, with 'Multiple Bookings' of 2 people or more
enjoying a 10% discount (i.e.2 persons £81.00 + VAT),
and currently it starts in the afternoon at 1.00pm. There
is a choice of which soap you'd like to make as long as
the ingredients are in our own stock. All materials are
included and because your soap has to wait 24 hours+ before
it can be taken, the cost of shipping it to you once it
is ready is covered by the price (UK mainland only)..
Unfortunately
we live in an age of litigation, so all those attending
will be required to sign a waiver of liability form because
of the risks associated with working with sodium hydroxide.
Obviously, as a responsible business we provide all recommended
safety equipment and ensure that your soap making experience
is an enjoyable one.
