OUR STORY SO FAR

THE SOAP KITCHEN, started in 2000 as a small family run business making quality cold process soaps from pure and natural ingredients. Over time we developed our own unique recipes as a result of lengthy experimentation which originally took place literally in the kitchen of our family home.

Our original selection of quality hand made soaps were first thoroughly tested and approved by our family, friends, neighbours and their families and friends before ever being offered for sale.

In 2001 we became licensed (certificated) manufacturers of our hand made soaps, having had them tested and found to exceed the required standards.

Being passionate about home soap making ourselves and knowing how frustrating it once was trying to find suppliers for all the diverse ingredients needed at sensible prices and in suitable pack sizes, we decided to offer a complete range of soap and toiletry making supplies for those wishing to try the craft for themselves and for the small business user. Our aim has always been to offer our customers an unrivalled one-stop source for all their soap and toiletry making requirements at sensible prices and in sensible pack sizes. Our aim over the last 7years has been simply to improve and expand. Now, with continually growing buying-power and now occupying even larger warehouse premises, having taken over our adjoining industrial unit, we can offer the home soap/toiletry maker and small business an unrivalled selection of products at highly competitive prices with prompt and inexpensive delivery services throughout mainland Europe.

Our aim for this year and beyond is to continue to improve our product range and prices wherever possible and to continue to offer our growing list of customers the standard of service thay have come to expect. We continue to receive regular favourable comments from our satisfied customers, mainly due to our commitment to providing a high standard of service in every respect. This year we are committed to expanding our product range even further, taking on a wider selection of Organic products where viable. We have seen our business grow by a staggering 100% in November and December 2007 over the same months the previous year and this has only been possible because of the loyalty of our valued customers and the commitment of our staff.

THE SOAP KITCHEN is owned by Richard and Lesley Phillips and is run from it's warehouse units just outside the historic North Devon town of Great Torrington, in the U.K. Our shop premises in the town centre is a showcase for our own selection of soaps and toiletries together with a wide selection of other complimentary quality giftware.
